Application of Raman Spectral Imaging in Biomedicine
Raman spectral imaging technology is a dual technology model that combines Raman spectroscopy and microgranography.Traditional Raman spectral measurement can only analyze the composition, crystallization and other information of substances by providing simple maps, while Raman spectral imaging can provide extra spatial information which is extremely important in biomedical applications.
As the basic unit of biological structure and function, analyzing molecular structure information and biochemical components within cells is the key to reveal the mysteries of life and defeat disease. Cells, tissues and organs in different states have different biochemical compositions and spectral properties, and by analyzing Raman spectral images, the pathological conditions of the samples to be tested can be provided, and normal tissue and diseased tissue can be effectively distinguished. The following mainly talk about the brain, eyes, skin and other biomedical applications.
1. Brain: Brain tumor sites produced in the brain are prone to deterioration and metastasis, a process that leads to a complex set of biochemical changes, while Raman spectroscopic imaging determines what is happening in the brain by detecting molecular information about the substance.
2.Eyes: Cataracts are one of the more common eye diseases, mainly caused by lesions of lipids caused by metabolic disorders in the lens, while cofocal micro-Raman imaging can analyze changes in the lens by analyzing lipid distribution in the lens slice.
3.Skin: Skin is easily damaged and has a wide variety of skin diseases due to direct contact with the outside world. Raman spectral imaging is one of the most common malignant tumors in the analysis when detecting skin, and further distinguishes normal skin tissue and diseased cells by imaging nucleic acids and tryptophan in cells.
